We use fragrance oils over essential oils—for good reason.

In our opinion, they’re more sustainable, more consistent, and less volatile. Essential oils can vary dramatically based on where and how they’re sourced, may come with a higher carbon footprint from global transport and energy-intensive distillation, and can even become toxic depending on the soil they’re grown in. And when it comes to performance? They often require more volume to be effective—and tend to fade faster.

Fragrance oils give us the ability to create skin-safe, reliably seductive scents you can count on every time. And at just 2–3%, we keep it light, sexy, and never overpowering.

What “Plant-Based” and "Clean" Means to Us

We don’t use the word clean. Not because we don’t care about safety, but because that label has become watered down. It means something different to everyone, and often gets used to market formulas that barely work—or to create a false sense of purity.

That’s not our style. We’re about effective, luxurious products that are as natural as possible—without ever compromising on performance.

Our formulas are plant-based, because most of every product we make is derived from plants. Are we 100% natural? No. But we’re honest. We use fragrance oils and a small amount of safe synthetics—only where they enhance performance, longevity, or that long-lasting, silky-skin feel.

We work closely with our chemists to create products that are effective, indulgent, and aligned with our values. We believe transparency is everything—which is why our full ingredient lists are available for every product. No hiding. No guessing. Just the truth—on the label and on our site.

At Bath Slut, we're not about greenwashing—we’re about making things better. For your skin, your senses, and the planet. That means fewer ingredients, smarter packaging, and pleasure with purpose—because sexy self-care shouldn’t come with a hefty price tag for you or the planet.

Our primary packaging for most products is glass, chosen for its recyclability and sleek look. We also use PET plastic jars with aluminum lids (and foam liners) for our body scrub—they’re durable, lightweight, and better suited for an oil-based product. Our bath salts come in biodegradable, compostable pouches designed to disappear, not pile up. All labels are vinyl or PP (polypropylene), which may or may not be recyclable depending on your area.

Tip: Always check with your local facility for what’s accepted.

We use Kraft boxes that often serve as both product and shipping packaging in one—cutting down on waste and materials. With minimal printing, they’re easy to reuse and/or recycle.

Keeping things minimal is a conscious choice. Everything is made and filled in the U.S. to reduce the miles it takes to reach your bathroom shelf.
